I started my study of apparel design in the fall of 2020 at Iowa State University seeking a Bachelor's of Science in Apparel Merchandising and Design. During my four years of study, I have took various courses studying hand illustration, digital illustration using Procreate and Adobe Suites, Patternmaking, Draping, and CAD Patternmaking using Lectra Suites.
After starting my education at Iowa State, I took a particular interest in textile production processes. Taking various extra circular courses, I studied various fabric dying techniques, print making via CAD design, textile weaving practices, and their origins. Adding these elements to my standing knowledge of apparel design has allowed me to completely customize each original piece I design.
I started my study of garment construction techniques through a technical high school called Central Campus in Des Moines, Iowa in the fall of 2018. This inspired me to continue to pursue apparel and textile design. While pursuing my education, I was able to participate in the annual Iowa State Fashion Show as a designer and committee member.
